Job Description:

NEA is looking to hire a permanent and full time based Quantity Surveyor for our Amman – Jordan Office with minimum 5 – 10 years of relevant experience in Quantity Surveying. Applicant must have a Bachelor Degree in Quantity Surveying or Engineering (Civil/Electrical/Mechanical).

Duties and responsibilities are below:

  • To carry out all professional surveying duties to the standard expected by the company. These to include preparation of feasibility/cost planning exercises, tender documentation (bills of quantities & front end documents), contract documentation, interim valuations, variations, cost reports, final accounts, contractual claims, etc., and where required by such work, (and under the supervision of the Project Leader) attending meetings and liaising with the client, the other members of the design team and the contractor.
  • Measurement of works in accordance with the various international standards such as NRM / POMI / CESMM4, etc.,
  • To assist the estimating team, when applicable, in maintaining an up to date in house cost data record.
  • To prepare Tender Analysis and Report.
  • To understand the implications of health and safety regulations.
  • To participate in Value Engineering Workshops.
  • To maintain an efficient administration system to ensure the continuity of work should the surveyor be absent.
  • To keep the Senior Quantity Surveyor/Director appraised of all relevant details of the project work in hand.
  • To anticipate problems relative to the surveyor’s quantity surveying duties and report to the Senior Quantity Surveyor/Director with possible solutions.
  • To flag any issues that might affect the projects or any tasks to the attention of Senior Quantity Surveyor or Director for immediate action.
  • To maintain a high level of Ethical Standards and Awareness in line with Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors (RICS) Protocol and the company By-Laws.
  • To ensure that all work is completed on time and to the professional standard expected by the Company.
  • To coordinate, supervise and check the tasks assigned to the Assistant Quantity Surveyors.
  • To assist in the training of Assistant Quantity Surveyor.
  • To attend any relevant internal or external training courses.
  • To keep up to date with the new statutory requirements, new technical developments in quantity surveying techniques relevant to the construction industry.
  • To carry out any other Quantity Surveying related duties that the Company may require from you.
  • To comply with all relevant laws & regulations pertaining to anti-corruption and bribery.
  • To ensure the confidentiality of company information is upheld.
